My love for painting began very early. During my
youth, I painted just like everyone else, but felt
no satisfaction. Gradually I started to paint as I
felt. Soon I realized that in order to create a
painting with much feeling and harmony, I needed to
see the subject matter in its simplest form. This
realization helped me express myself more clearly.
To create harmony, it is important for me to control
the air around the model. It should be freely
circulating. The space should be open, expansive and
continuous. I believe that attuning and balancing
the pictorial elements, such as, form, color,
gray-tones and shapes enhance the painting’s
harmony, and together with rhythmic unity minimize
the danger of pictorial chaos.
